Alden Richards Turns Attention to Learning, 'Fam Time'

He will fly to New York right after the show for what he hopes would be a “one-on-one session” with the mentor who conducted a three-day workshop for Alden and other GMA Artists in Manila August last year.

Alden said he has renewed thirst to learn more about acting after attending the workshop, saying that time with Anthony was a “revelation.”

“Sobrang eye-opener po siya sa akin kasi when I was starting (in the industry), feeling ko alam ko na ang lahat (tungkol sa pag-arte), feeling ko okay na ako kasi okay din naman ang feedback ng mga tao,” he admitted. “Later on did I realize na ‘Eto lang pala ang alam ko.’ Kumbaga 10 percent of the totality of the craft lang pala ito.”

Alden hopes that through Anthony’s help, he will become so much better at his craft.

“’Yung eagerness ko, ‘yung passion ko for acting lalong lumalalim. Gusto ko pang matuto so I’m really looking forward to this,” he said.

Time for fam

Alden sees the Holy Week as opportunity to spend more time with his family.

The actor’s work schedule is not for the fainthearted.

“Mondays to Sundays nagta-trabaho ako. Minsan ‘pag umuuwi (ako ng bahay) tulog na sila, kapag aalis naman ako, tulog pa din sila,” he said. “So parang at least kapag nabibigyan po ng mga ganitong breaks na medyo mahaba, gusto kong i-take advantage ito to spend time with them.”

They will go to the beach then celebrate Easter Sunday at home.

“Na-e-excite ako kasi first family trip (this Holy Week) na kasama ako. We’re gonna spend four days in Dapitan, then balik na kami ng Good Friday. Bahay na lang kami,” he shared.

Alden said his family treats him the same despite his success and fame. No special treatment at all and he could only be thankful about it.

“Wala pa ding nagbago (sa pagtrato nila sa akin). Ako pa rin ‘yung second child, ako ‘yung apo, ako ‘yung kapatid, ako ‘yung kuya,” he said. “Walang nangyayaring special treatment kahit marami ng blessings na dumating which is what I really love about my family kasi hindi nila ako tinatanong sa mga intriga. Kapag kasama ko sila, ang pinaguusapan namin is really about family lang, not about anything else.”

All is well

A video by GMA actor Juancho Triviño allegedly giving a middle finger to a poster of Alden recently caught the attention of many people. Some netizens reacted negatively to the former while others gave him benefit of the doubt.

For Alden, the video is “no big deal.”

Juancho has since issued an apology on the matter through a social media post.

“Hindi po big deal sa akin ‘yung issue, okay lang po ‘yun kasi baka nagkamali lang din po ng interpretasyon ang mga tao,” he said. “Wala naman po kaming problema, nagka-text-an naman na din po kami prior to his post. Kami naman po ay walang issue even before so okay na po ‘yun.”

We caught up with the Pambansang Bae at the recent press launch of Cookie’s Peanut Butter, which has him as their first celebrity endorser.

Made of all-natural ingredients with absolutely no preservatives, Cookie’s Peanut Butter is proudly made in the city of Biñan, Laguna – hometown of the man who developed its delicious recipe, Cookie Yatco.

“I take it as a new challenge on my end kapag may bagong product na na-i-lo-launch po tapos ako po ‘yung pinagkakatiwalaan to be the face of it. I’m thankful to the Yatco Family for considering me lalo na mahilig din po talaga ako sa peanut butter,” he said.
